Here's a cover to Moby Dick for Jon Foster's cover illustration class at RISD. The idea was that the white area of the composition is the head of Moby Dick, coming down with jaws open, and his eye is on Ahab.
"Forge me new weapons that will strike deep and hold fast. But do not douse them in water. They must have a proper baptism. What say ye men? Will you give as much blood as shall be needed to temper the steel?"
Gregory Peck is awesome, and coincidentally he has the same last name as you.
Anyway, looks great. And the whale's head engulfing Ahab, genius.
Ahh...you take a class with Jon Foster? I love that guy so much. This color scheme actually reminds me of his work, a bit.
This painting's amazing...almost didn't see the white whale until you pointed it out. Really brilliant. The white lines on the far side of the boat are so subtle...pointy teeth!

"in the end, we're all just chalk lines on the concrete."
Yes, Jon Foster is amazing and inspiring indeed.
